I will not boast of a heart full of love;
Affection first came from the Lord above.
I will not boast of wisdom, vast and deep;
All knowledge comes from Him who does not sleep.
I will not boast any strength of my own;
It is given by the Lamb on the throne.
I will not boast any goodness of will;
Christ showed it best when his blood, he did spill.
I will not boast any riches or gold;
More precious still, to belong in Christ's fold.
I will not boast a faith, steadfast and true;
The Spirit each day makes my desires new.
I will not boast to have words that exalt;
To my praise, the Spirit adds light and salt.
But I will boast in my God, three in one,
Who in me lives til His good work is done.
